Product Owner
We are a product-driven company. Our Team is made up of passionate, smart people who are building a product that is pushing boundaries with cutting edge technologies and an enabling working environment. We are looking for Product Owner to join our friendly and agile team.

Your Main Responsibilities
- Work closely together with a team of dedicated software engineers using Agile methodology (Kanban/Scrum). Your responsibilities will include prioritization, updating backlogs and designing sprints, all based on our strategic product roadmap.
- Design the future of Antavo by contributing to product design processes from a feature request stage to full specification using a modern framework that is based on business requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on new requirements, collect and share feedback and actively shape how certain features will be developed.
- Work together with our release management committee for the timely release of new features.
You should have
- At least 3 years of experience in product management, product design or product owner roles. Business analysts are also welcome in case they have worked closely with product teams at a product company.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment with multiple products, distributed development teams and multiple key stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) in Hungarian and in English.
- Great organizational, time management and problem solving skills
- Experience in driving high complexity product initiatives with high business impact
- Empathetic, positive mindset with a proactive, “can do” attitude. You should think in teams and not individuals, be open to ask for help and provide help whenever needed by your immediate or extended team of colleagues.
- Experience working with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence), wireframing and diagraming solutions (Balsamiq, Figma, Lucid)
Nice to haves
- Previous work experience in the marketing space, preferably at a SaaS company
- Previous experience working with international teams
- Previous experience in software development or integration work
How we work
- The product team works very closely with our technology and delivery teams to ensure the happiness and success of our customers. We encourage these small teams to manage their own workload, make their own decisions as many times as possible as we do not like micromanagement.
- Our software development teams work using the Agile methodology (mostly Scrum), our team works based on our strategic roadmap that we curate together based on business priorities
- We use industry standard software to manage our software projects (Jira), project specifications and documentation (Confluence) and to run our communications (Slack). We have weekly status meetings where we share progress, success stories and highlight problems but at the same time we would like to fight meeting fatigue and focus on delivering as much work with as little meetings as possible.
- When we work on large-scale, overarching projects we tend to get together in Budapest or in our R&D offices in Szeged. During these occasions we usually discuss several, high-impact initiatives and align on them. Of course we leave ample time to get to know each other, to build cohesion in our team and to have fun!

Is it really true that I don’t have to get into the office and I can work from home?
- Yes, Antavo is a remote-first and not a hybrid company which means that everyone works from home most of their time. In case you would prefer to be in an office we have an R&D office in Szeged, Hungary where you are more than welcome, but presence is not mandatory. Time to time we meet up during workshops and to do some team building activities, but these are announced well ahead of the time.
I am new to product ownership and management. Can I still apply?
- We are looking for people with a solid background in product ownership or management this time, but don't hesitate to send your CV, because we expect to be looking for junior candidates in the future.
If Antavo is international and remote-first, how come that I need to speak in Hungarian?
- We need strong and confident English language skills, Our development team speaks and writes well in English, however their native language is Hungarian. To avoid misunderstandings and to make communications more efficient we decided to seek colleagues who speak Hungarian.
How is feedback shared on my work? How often do I get feedback?
- We encourage open communication and direct feedback in our organization. Because of this, you will get feedback on your work regularly and directly from your colleagues. On top of that we evaluate each others’ work at least once a year where we set out milestones for the next year and track these throughout the year.
