Director of Project Management (Remote)

Urban Insight designs and develops websites and web applications for mission-focused organizations like museums, universities, nonprofits, and cities. 

This is a management level position. We are seeking an experienced, sharp Director of Project Management to join our team to lead the Project Management department (PMO) and manage high profile client projects.  This position is an opportunity to lead an outstanding team of Project Managers and manage the successful launch of projects. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive project management experience, with the majority in website design and development.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working at a digital agency or consulting firm.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and management skills.
  • Robust client presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Drupal and/or WordPress.
  • Proficiency in Project Management tools, e.g. JIRA, Parallax, Airtable or similar,
  • Ability to prepare concise and clear professional memos and documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • For remote work: Previous experience successfully working remotely, and physical location in the U.S.
Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Growth
  • Coach, develop and grow our Project Management team.
  • Lead weekly team meetings and project capacity planning.
  • Scale and structure department with the growth of UI
Process Ownership
  • Implement and/or improve PMO best practices and appropriate infrastructure; scale with Urban Insight
  • Provide oversight for the end to end PM services (change orders, client communications, core PM artifacts, etc.)
Delivery and Client Satisfaction
  • Oversee the successful delivery of all projects
  • Ensure client satisfaction and that projects are completed in scope, on time and within budget
  • Project Manage a small portion of Urban Insight’s projects (i.e., this role has billable components).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work with the management team to set the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Participate in sales processes; own estimation sub-process.
  • Collaborate effectively cross-departmentally, e.g. with Sales, Creative, Development
  • Partner with COO / Operations to implement infrastructure dependent on PM Dept.

Location & Availability

  • Work from any location in the US, available 9am - 5pm in any US time zone
  • Our office is located in sunny Los Angeles, CA. This position is available for fully remote (US Only), partially remote (a few days in the office) or in-person in our LA Office.
Your Career Path
We anticipate this position to be a department leader who will join the senior management team after a successful training period. As UI grows, this role could bloom to VP of Delivery, and from there potentially the role of COO.

Compensation

The annual compensation range for this role, based on qualifications and experience: $137,000-147,000 + annual bonus up to $8,000
