Summary:
The Director Financial Systems and Transformation is responsible for overseeing the strategic management, implementation, and optimization of financial systems within the organization. This role ensures that financial systems are efficient, effective, and aligned with the company’s financial goals and operational needs. The Director will lead a team of professionals, collaborate with various departments, and drive initiatives to enhance financial processes and reporting.
This role requires a self-motivated individual who has successfully managed projects and ERP implementations should have experience with tracking projects in MS Projects, SmartSheets or other Project Management tools. This individual should be system interested and savvy looking for improvements in the process by usage of systems and be comfortable working in large data sets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Management:
- Develop and implement the financial systems strategy aligned with the organization’s goals
- Evaluate and recommend new financial technologies and solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Create and manage the budget for financial systems projects and initiatives
- Work cross functionally with Operations, Software Development on updates and transformational changes in the proprietary software
System Implementation and Optimization:
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of financial systems, including ERP, financial reporting tools and proprietary software
- Ensure systems are integrated seamlessly with other business applications and data sources
- Continuously assess system performance and implement improvements to optimize functionality
- API ownership between proprietary front-end systems and the ERP system
- Key resource for the Software development team to effectively convey finance and accounting business needs
- Proven ability to act in a Project Management capacity with organized project plans, documentation of requirements
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a system analyst and work closely with Controllers and accounting teams
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment
- Provide training and support to staff on financial systems and related tools
Project Management:
- Manage financial systems projects from inception to completion, including scope definition, planning, execution, and post-implementation review
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success
System Support and Troubleshooting:
- Oversee the resolution of system issues, including technical troubleshooting and user support
- Ensure proper documentation and support procedures are in place for all financial systems
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure financial systems comply with regulatory requirements and internal controls
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect financial data and system integrity
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies related to financial systems
Reporting and Analytics:
- Develop and maintain reporting frameworks and dashboards for financial performance analysis
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on financial data and system performance metrics
- Support the preparation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders

- Advanced MS Office skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio (Smartsheet as well)
- Proven successful Project Management track record

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Minimum of 7 years in related field and 3 years of management experience
- Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and financial reporting tools
- Strong background in project management and system implementation
- Excellent knowledge of financial systems, processes, and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective leadership and team management abilities
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Computer Skills:
- Sage Intacct ; Workday (preferred) or comparable enterprise resource planning system
- Spreadsheet Software (Excel) high level/advanced, PowerPoint and Visio
- Consolidation software tools (Workday Adaptive preferred)
- Microsoft Office 365

Travel
- Travel is expected to be approximately 20%
- This position will be an-office position with the ability to travel to other offices occasionally
