Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

The Director of Finance will oversee all aspects of the company’s financial operations.   The duties and responsibilities of a director of finance include the following:

  • Oversees day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. 
  • Prepares detailed financial reports on the company’s performance.
  • Ensures that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
  • Implements new software in the finance department for improved reporting and billing. 
  • Manages accounting personnel and provides ongoing training.
  • Communicates with external auditors and provides required statements and information for the annual audit.
  • Ensures financial internal control processes are carried out properly.
  • Recognizes patterns in the company’s spending and revenue and makes recommendations for resolving any issues.
  • Manages banking relationships.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Experience implementing ERP and/or Billing system software strongly preferred.
  • Five years or more of related experience required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred.
  • Public auditing experience preferred.
