Job description

Claims Investigator

K2 Claims Services is seeking an Investigator to join its Claims Team, at Rubicon Investigative Solutions. This position will be home-based and will include responsibility to investigate suspicious claims and to assist Claims Adjusters in determining coverage, compensability, liability and damages.

K2 Claims Services is a third-party administrator who handles claims nationwide for various insurance carriers. The Claims Team specializes in claims handling meeting the unique needs of the insurance market.

The Claims Investigator will conduct desktop and field investigations of insurance policies and claims, handling all lines of Property Casualty insurance, including property, liability, auto and workers’ compensation.

Activities include and not limited to:

  • Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders
  • Respond to calls, emails and requests from agents, claimants, attorneys, public adjusters, and officials
  • Review and evaluate suspect claims
  • Gather information form adjusters, law enforcement, claimants, witnesses and others, to develop a better understanding of the case, to determine if the claim is valid
  • Conduct research and analyze evidence, documents and police/fire reports
  • Conduct interviews online and in person
  • Gather evidence and prepare detailed reports of investigation activities and findings.
  • Conduct Anti-Fraud training and reporting
  • Refer suspect cases to law enforcement
  • Direct and monitor investigative work done by vendors

 

Ideally, the Property Claims Examiner will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business or insurance-related major
  • All-lines Claims Adjuster license
  • 7-10 years’ claims and/or investigation experience. (Multi-Line and field experience a plus)
  • Experience handling complex investigations
  • Exceptional customer service focus
  • A Can-Do attitude with a proven ability to solve problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Flexibility for occasional business travel
  • Strong time management skills as this job will be based at home with minimal supervision 


Pay Range- 80k-90K USD per year
