We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our financial transactions and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

📍This is  a full-time fully remote contractor role

📍We are seeking someone preferably with a background in B2C marketing

📍Although the role is remote, the candidate must be available during EU hours (GMT)




Key Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct ledger accounts.
  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and reconciling transactions.
  • Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Manage payroll processing in a timely manner.
  • Complete tax forms and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive chart of accounts.
  • Monitor for variances from the projected budget and report significant issues to direct management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
 

Qualifications:

  • Proven bookkeeping experience.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
  • Proficiency in English and MS Office.
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience with accounting software packages.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of international financial regulations and practices.
