Billing Coordinator

About the Role:

We are looking for a Billing Coordinator who will be responsible for engaging with patients to address billing inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies while maintaining detailed records and adhering to company billing policies and procedures.  Customer service, communication, and attention to detail will help us maintain a high level of patient satisfaction while driving outstanding revenue collection. This will be a full-time opportunity, reporting initially to the SVP of Finance, but working closely with Clinical and Practice Operations teams. 

We have a preference for candidates based in Boston, MA; however, as this is a remote position, we are open to considering candidates from outside of the Boston area. 

What You Will Do:

• Patient Communication: Engage with patients in a friendly, helpful, and timely manner to address inquiries related to invoices, payments, insurance coverage, service offerings, and claims processing information. 
• Assist with billing error resolution: Identify and rectify any billing errors, including discrepancies with incorrect patient information, insurance changes, and membership updates.
• Invoice review and generation: Review invoices to ensure they are accurate as well as providing patients with detailed invoice receipts upon request. 
• Inquiries from insurance: Provide medical records, claims data, and any other information requested from insurance to help facilitate payment of claims. 

About You:

• 2+ years medical billing/medical insurance experience required (understanding of CPT, ICD-10 codes, insurance coverage and EMR systems)
• At least an Associates degree preferred
• Prior experience working in a fast paced, high volume, multi-location or telehealth clinical practice
• Excellent communication skills
• Effective problem solving skills
