Job requirements

Position Summary:

The contract position requires expertise in technology strategy, policies, plans, architecture, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise applications and systems. The candidate will work independently and with other IT technicians on enterprise migrations from on premise systems to AWS cloud in addition to migrations from on premise older Nutanix clusters to a new Nutanix cluster. Efforts will also be inclusive of OS upgrades as necessary and outlined in the project effort. This position will support client Infrastructure and Operations organization. The position will work with other engineers to identify efficiency opportunities, while working with application development teams to support migration activities and minimize service disruption.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead Cloud Migrations: Oversee and execute the migration of on-premises systems and applications to AWS cloud, ensuring minimal disruption.

Provide timely/regular updates on progress and issues to the leadership team.

Collaborate on Cloud and Infrastructure Strategies: Work closely with delivery and operations engineers to analyze system requirements, provide architecture recommendations.

Monitor, Troubleshoot, and Optimize Performance: assess the performance of cloud and on-premises systems within scope.

Lead infrastructure testing to ensure seamless operability and integration of new solutions.

Lead and execute changes on production systems in accordance with Change Management standards.

Provide updates to project roadmap, timeline and projections of completions

Ensure all usage of cloud environments meets governance standards and contributes to improving standards for security and operational efficiency.

Ensure Compliance with Policies and Standards are upheld.

Other duties as assigned or required.
