Total compensation for the internship is $4,650.00 spread over bi-weekly payments 

Schedule 

20 hours per week M-F (April 28 – July 18, 2025) 

 

 

Position Overview 

 

Commonwealth Corporation is looking for a dynamic, energetic intern who is eager to learn about our organization and the Re-Entry Workforce Development Demonstration Program. The Re-Entry Program currently funds and supports 11 grantees working to improve workforce outcomes among individuals returning to their communities after incarceration (i.e. returning citizens). The Re-Entry Program Intern will support the development of engaging and informative content to assist grantees with program implementation including recruitment, training activities, and employment. The Re-Entry Program intern will be brought up to speed and work closely with the Re-Entry team supporting the creation of other program materials and participating in upcoming projects, as well as assisting with day-to-day operations. 

This position is ideal for an individual with strong research, writing, and communication skills and great attention to detail. It is also suited for someone skilled at identifying and proposing creative and innovative ideas to enhance Technical Assistance (TA) sessions and program materials. Ideal candidates are committed to justice-focused re-entry initiatives and building stronger, more inclusive communities. 

This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of programming and training development while gaining experience and knowledge about well-known community-based organizations. 

Intern Responsibilities  

  • Learn about Commonwealth Corporation and the Re-Entry Workforce Development Demonstration Program 

  • Review and revise slide decks and content to assist grantees with program implementation, recruitment, training activities, and employment. 

  • Research proven practices and assist with creating additional resources for supporting effective and engaging delivery of skills and job readiness content to returning citizens.  

  • Some examples of projects include: 

  • Developing a vault of slide decks and agendas for future learning community sessions. 

  • Creating easy-to-use, accessible templates for quarterly check-in meetings with grantees. 

  • Designing a schedule for learning sessions and example topics for each session. 

  • Attend and participate in meetings and learning community sessions  

  • There is also the expectation that the intern will assist with performing general and daily administrative duties and assisting the Re-Entry team with additional projects and tasks assigned relating to programming, if needed 

Qualifications 

  • A college student, recent graduate, or individual in career transition and/or exploring career opportunities. 

  • Must reside in Massachusetts (MA) for the duration of the internship 

  • Eager to learn and work with various departments in the organization 

  • Experience or knowledge in workforce development, job readiness trainings, and/or communications preferred  

  • Experience working with diverse populations, including returning citizens and people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds  

  • Ability to multi-task 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 

  • A creative, innovative, and strategic mindset   

  • Ability to be resourceful, self-motivated, and to independently prioritize workload with a high degree of initiative   

  • Be a strong team player, able to foster positive and productive relationships
