Job description

Irth Solutions is looking for a passionate Geohazard Product Manager to own and drive the industry future and development of the Irth Geohazard Management capabilities in our geospatial, business intelligence and integrity management platforms. These deliver a comprehensive, market-leading combination for data-driven damage prevention, asset performance management, and regulatory compliance. This combination enhances our offerings for critical infrastructure allowing customers to responsibly future proof their infrastructure assets. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out products that deliver the company’s Geohazard vision and strategy.  

Your role will be to work with development, operations, sales, and marketing to develop features that enable the delivery of integrity efficiency, regulatory and compliance features, while enabling a unified and integrated platform for existing operational data, supporting extending asset lifespan and minimizing downtime. Building a solution to characterize pipeline Geohazard and Geotechnical risks integrated into existing integrity and damage prevention programs. We are seeking an individual who is willing to think out-of-the-box and desires to make a difference in the industry specifically looking at the overall inclusion of integrating geotechnical and related data (Strain, weather, boundary, ROW findings, railroads, erosion, soil, seismic, water, drone, InSAR, lidar and others) into integrity processes and methods. You will have the opportunity to make a tremendous impact on the product and market quickly. We are looking for a passionate, strategic thinker who can understand the big picture, but also cares about the details. 

This position involves owning and monitoring the entire process of product development from the beginning to the end stage, working closely with a broad group of individuals in various departments within the company, and delivering product and results in a timely manner. 

Requirements

  • Defining, managing, and delivering on all aspects of the Geohazard vision and strategy. 
  • Translating product strategy into a detailed roadmap of requirements, features, and user stories. 
  • Engaging the market and serving as a product evangelist and owner to build awareness and understanding. 
  • Gaining a deep understanding of industry and customer integrity, geohazard, risk and related teams experience and process. 
  • Defining and creating buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external customers. 
  • Partnering with customers and owning the Geohazard Private Preview process (customer pilots, demonstrations, onboarding, etc.), used to collect feedback, influence product and kick start go-to-market. 
  • Representing the company by engaging customers and industry events to solicit feedback on company products and services. 
  • Researching, documenting and gap analysis on the competitive landscape. 
  • Improving customer experience, driving growth, and growing market share by filling product gaps identified through the analysis of the competition and customer experience. 
  • Developing and documenting the full product lifecycle of go-to-market on the Geohazard roadmap and vision (assets, wikis, papers, etc.) 
  • Leading product launches by working closely with the relevant teams. 
  • Developing product pricing and positioning strategies. 
  • Scoping and prioritizing activities according to customer and business impact. 
  • Working closely with development and data science teams to deliver with a quick time-to-market cadence. 
  • Driving revenue by working with sales and related teams. 

Requirements and skills 

  • Oil and Gas Pipeline Software & Geohazard management experience required. 
  • Understanding of inline inspections (ILI) and the integrity process. 
  • Understanding of the damage prevention process. 
  • Working knowledge of US (American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) – B31, PHMSA 49 CFR 192 and 195) and Canadian (CSA Z662:23) regulations and industry standards required. 
  • Geohazard and/or Geotechnical experience managing pipeline infrastructure and execution of best practice geohazard risk mitigation programs. 
  • Proven consolidation and integration of geospatial data in integrity programs. 
  • Geohazard community reputation preferred. 
  • Real-world experience identifying a pipeline system’s geohazard threats enabling risk-informed decision-making. 
  • Proven work experience in product management with 3+ years of direct product management experience preferred. 
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle preferred. 
  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management. 
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in agile software development (Microsoft DevOps preferred) and web technologies preferred. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective at collaborating with cross functional remote teams. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities. 
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred. 
  • Project Manager or a Scrum Master certification would be an asset. 
  • Experience with the Microsoft tech stack (Teams, DevOps, etc.).
