Intro and job overview: We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst with strong analytical and programming capabilities to join our team. This role combines traditional data analysis with software development, focusing on data analytics, data transformation, and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities and Duties:

You will be involved in the analysis and transformation of data between source and destination systems. This is a multifaceted position that combines analytics and code writing for which very strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
You will help refine system change requirements, attend design sessions, present ideas to groups of people with diverse roles and skill levels, and exchange ideas with your team members.
You will be working on existing Java code for our proprietary software, suggesting optimizations and enhancements, writing the code, compiling, and managing strict version control.
You will be responsible for technical analysis, solution definition and design of data transformation processes which will range from simple to complex changes for existing customers, to full Implementations of new customers.
Design and create simple to complex data structures and data definitions in both the XML and JSON format.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues on a rotating on-call schedule.
Participate in code reviews to ensure the quality and security of developed solutions, and that data transformation best practices have been applied.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field
5+ years of experience in data analysis and transformation
Languages: Python, Java, XSLT
Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, EventBridge, Glue)
Proficiency with API's
Day to day working experience with JSON, XML, and XSLT
Familiarity with version control systems (Gitlab)
Infrastructure as code: Terraform
Soft-skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, Agile development experience, bbility to work independently and in team settings, detail-oriented with strong organization skills, a balanced approach to task management
