Project Overview

The Technology Solutions Office (TSO) led by the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) supports the judiciary with strategic guidance, technology development, technical standards, policies, planning, and significant research and development efforts. The mission of the TSO is to deliver technology solutions to help the Federal Judiciary reduce costs and risks, improve overall effectiveness and efficiency of judicial operations by providing experimentation, validation, and concept development in support of business requirements. TSO has adopted Agile Scrum and uses Agile principles to carry out best software development practices in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

 

The TSO consists of the following four Support Teams:

Portfolio Management

Compliance

Enterprise Architecture (EA)

Service Delivery

 

Job Responsibilities

    Design, implement, and manage comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard our organization's information systems and data.

    Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents and breaches.

    Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify weaknesses and vulnerabilities in systems and applications.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address security concerns and provide expert guidance on security best practices during the development lifecycle.

    Install, configure, and maintain security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions.

    Implement and manage access controls, authentication, and authorization mechanisms to ensure only authorized individuals have access to sensitive resources.

    Investigate security breaches and incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend appropriate remediation measures.

    Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices, and provide timely insights to enhance the organization's security posture.

    Develop and deliver cybersecurity training and awareness programs to educate employees on security best practices.

    Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure that security measures align with industry regulations and standards.

    Participate in the development and testing of incident response and disaster recovery plans.

    Provide technical support during security audits and assessments.

 

Required Skill/Qualifications

    Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer or similar role.

    Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.

    Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).

    Proficiency in networking concepts, protocols, and architecture.

    Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM solutions, and antivirus software.

    Knowledge of encryption techniques, authentication methods, and access control mechanisms.

    Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment tools and penetration testing methodologies.

    Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and respond to security incidents effectively.

    Strong communication skills to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Security+, or equivalent, are a plus.

 

Education

    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

    Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
