Data Analyst – Data and Analytics

Description

This Data Analyst role would be responsible for taking large sets of numerical data and extracting from them valuable information about the company's revenue that management can use to make business decisions. This role would assist with revenue management and revenue forecasting by analyzing data from the company’s finance, operational scheduling, sales, and product warehousing systems.

The analyst role must also be capable of taking the information they have uncovered and formatting it into financial reports that are easy to read and easy to understand. The analyst role would offers valuable information derived from often-complex quantitative analysis, but present the information in a way that makes sense to a layperson.

Their analysis would offer insight into various areas of our business and the data/reports would suggest ways to improve revenue and sales growth. The analysis would be utilized by senior management to make key business decisions.

A data analyst would have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

• Assist in the development and daily management of a revenue forecasting tool.
• Analyzing revenue and sales cycle data, preparing revenue forecasts, and performing trend analysis.
• Analyzing business operations scheduling process by performing trend analysis. Identify opportunities for improvement
• Analyze current product data (classes sold, etc.) and perform trend analysis
• Track sales performance and make recommendations for improving operations
• Analyze pricing strategies based on projected demand, competition, costs of production, and other factors
• Present recommendations to management teams regarding potential new products or services based on data analysis
• Research market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for new business development
• Prepare and analyze other financial information to prepare reports such as budgets, forecasts, and presentations for management

• This role should be good with numbers.
• They should be quantitatively inclined and in no way intimidated by math.
• Deep analytical and quantitative skills with proven ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
• Must display fine attention to detail - successfully completes tasks requiring deep attention to a high volume of detailed information with the ability to build quality process into job functions.
