Business Intelligence Architect

Hillenbrand is advancing its Business Intelligence capabilities, and we’re looking for a BI Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-impact data solutions. In this role, you’ll shape the way we integrate and transform raw data into actionable insights, driving business strategy through robust data models, reports, and dashboards. You’ll oversee the full BI development lifecycle, optimize ETL processes, and ensure data integrity and security while mentoring junior team members and supporting key BI initiatives like POM and modernization. Your expertise in the Microsoft tech stack, Power BI, Azure, and data modeling will play a crucial role in enhancing analytics capabilities, accelerating BI programs, and empowering business users with the insights they need to make informed decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and architect scalable BI solutions that effectively integrate data from disparate IT source systems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for BI architecture.
• Oversee the development and optimization of ETL processes to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Create and maintain data models that support reporting and analytics needs, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Develop and implement dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to business users.
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies and best practices in data management.
• Evaluate and recommend BI tools and technologies to enhance the organization’s analytics capabilities.
• Participating in BI projects from conception to deployment, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior BI team members and other stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in business intelligence and data analytics.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field

Experience Needed:

• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, or data architecture roles, specifically within the Microsoft tech stack.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
• Extensive experience with SQL Server, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL processes and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) for data modeling.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services, including Azure Data Factory for data integration and Azure SQL Database for cloud-based data storage.
• Knowledge of data modeling techniques and methodologies (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema) within the Microsoft ecosystem.
• Experience with cloud-based BI solutions and data storage (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
