Job Summary:
VA is implementing the new Federal electronic health record (EHR) system to store and track
patient medical information. This effort is known as VA’s Electronic Health Record
Modernization (EHRM).
The Federal EHR is now in use at six VA medical centers (VAMCs)
and their 25 associated clinics and serves more than 275,000 Veterans.
The new, common Federal EHR will provide a single, accurate, lifetime health record for
Veterans and include their health records from the Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Coast
Guard (USCG), and other federal partners.
For Veterans, this will result in improved standardization of health care delivery, patient care quality, and safety. The modernized EHR also supports a more coordinated experience for VA staff and clinicians as they care for Veterans
and will improve interoperability with the rest of the American health care system.
Aptive HTG is seeking a Power App Developer in support of our work coordinating and
managing EHRM activities for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
• Support the enhancement and sustainment of a VHA owned PowerApps tool.
• Develop and implement custom solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate
• Automate workflows and business processes
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical solutions
• Stay up to date with the latest Power Apps and Power Automate features and trends
• Provide technical insights and guidance to development teams throughout the software
development lifecycle.
• Conduct workshops, presentations, and demonstrations to showcase the capabilities and
benefits of low-code platforms to teammates and internal stakeholders.
• Design and create applications and sites based on requirements
• Transform raw data into insights using PowerBI and other tools
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports to help businesses use their data
• Create and maintain application solution documentation.
• Assist in creating end-user and technical documentation
• Provide ongoing support and user training
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, and
project managers
• Advise on technical best practices and efficiencies with SharePoint Online and Microsoft
365 solutions through optimization and automation using the Power Platform (Power
Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, etc.).
• Manage SharePoint permissions and create lists, document libraries, dashboards, forms,
and complex automated tools and workflows.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field, Master's
degree is a plus.
• Experience with analytics
• At least 5 years of experience in Power Apps and Power Automate development
• Proficient in Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint
• Agile and scrum methodology knowledge
• Experience in interpreting functional and non-functional requirements into Microsoft
Power Platform applications
• Ability to rapidly prioritize competing requirements.
• Ability to understand and simplify customer requirements.
• Ability to communicate end user feedback to technical and design lead
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of relational database technologies.
• Knowledge of integration technologies, APIs, and protocols.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
Technical knowledge/skills:
• Power Platform (Canvas/model-driven apps, SharePoint, Power BI)
• Relational databases (design/SQL/tuning)
• Web APIs (SOAP/REST)
