Job description

Position Summary:

Data is CAQH’s most critical asset, and as Senior Vice President of Data and Analytics, you will redefine how we leverage it to drive business strategy, industry leadership, and end user/customer value. This executive role incorporating cross-functional collaboration, executive level thought leadership, AI-driven data innovation, vendor management, and industry trend integration into CAQH’s long-term vision.

As the strategic driver of CAQH’s enterprise-wide data strategy, the SVP of Data and Analytics will work closely with the C-Suite, internal and external stakeholders, and technology leaders to ensure that advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning are fully embedded in decision-making, product innovation, and customer engagement. This role requires a visionary leader who can translate complex data insights into actionable strategies that enhance CAQH’s mission and position the organization at the forefront of healthcare data transformation.

The SVP will lead a growing team of data leaders and engineers, data scientists, and analysts, ensuring that data governance, AI, and interoperability frameworks are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with industry trends. Additionally, this role will manage strategic vendor relationships, ensuring that CAQH leverages best-in-class data infrastructure and analytics tools to accelerate innovation.

This is a highly strategic, full-time remote position, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), with occasional travel to the office and vendor locations in Washington, DC, Louisville ,KY, and Bangalore, India.

Base Salary Range: $275,000 - $300,000 annually.

Specific Responsibilities:

Enterprise Data Strategy & AI-Driven Innovation

  • Define and execute CAQH’s enterprise-wide data strategy, ensuring that AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics drive business value, operational efficiency, and product innovation.
  • Architect and oversee the development of a scalable data platform that integrates disparate data sources, ensuring seamless data flow and real-time decision-making across CAQH.
  • Develop and implement an AI and machine learning roadmap, embedding AI capabilities into data quality initiatives, predictive analytics, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Establish a future-ready data governance framework, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and best practices in data security and ethics.

Cross-Functional Leadership & C-Suite Advisory

  • Serve as a key data and analytics advisor to the CAQH C-Suite, providing insights that drive strategic decision-making, revenue growth, and technology investments.
  • Collaborate closely with growth, operations, product, and technology leaders to ensure data is leveraged effectively to accelerate product innovation, optimize operations, and enhance customer engagement.
  • Champion data democratization efforts, ensuring that internal teams have self-service access to high-quality, trusted data for decision-making.
  • Actively participate in CAQH’s Leadership Council, shaping the organization’s mission, strategy, and data-driven transformation efforts.

Customer-Centric Data Monetization & Analytics

  • Develop and scale data-driven business models, enabling CAQH to offer data-as-a-service and analytics solutions to customers.
  • Work directly with health plans, partners, and stakeholders to identify key data-driven use cases, ensuring that analytics capabilities align with market needs and revenue opportunities.
  • Lead the development of business intelligence and reporting solutions, providing customers with actionable insights that support healthcare efficiency, compliance, and quality improvement.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Establish and manage strategic vendor relationships, ensuring CAQH adopts best-in-class analytics platforms, AI tools, and cloud-based data infrastructure.
  • Negotiate and optimize contracts with third-party data providers, vendors, and technology partners to enhance data quality, interoperability, and analytics capabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing data and analytics team (expanding beyond the current 3-6 members), ensuring the team is equipped with cutting-edge skills in AI, machine learning, and cloud analytics.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation, ensuring that CAQH attracts and retains top data science and AI talent.
  • Scale the analytics function, aligning data science, engineering, and business intelligence teams to support company-wide goals.

Skills & Experience:

Leadership & Influence

  • Proven experience in setting and executing a data strategy that aligns with business objectives, driving revenue growth, AI adoption, and organizational change.
  • Exceptional ability to advise C-Suite executives, translating complex data insights into clear, strategic recommendations.
  • Experience leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives, particularly in AI, machine learning, and data science.

Technical & Industry Expertise

  • Deep expertise in AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics, with hands-on experience in deploying AI models at scale.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare data interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, EDI) and regulatory compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HITRUST, GDPR).
  • Experience managing enterprise data platforms and cloud analytics ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Customer & Market Focus

  • Experience in monetizing data assets and developing data-driven business models (e.g., data-as-a-service, analytics subscriptions).
  • Deep understanding of payer, provider, and healthcare IT workflows, ensuring CAQH’s data capabilities meet market demands.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10-15 or more years in a data science or data related role. 
  • Minimum 10-15 or more years of experience analyzing large datasets. 
  • Minimum 10-15 or more years as a senior leader with experience in building and managing a team.
  • Successful track record of building and leading a data science function from the ground up.
  • Experience with deploying commercially available data science toolsets.
  • Experience connecting large disparate data sources in a way that promotes flexibility and scalability.
  • Experience with leading data quality initiatives in a software development environment.
  • Experience leading global or enterprise-wide analytics teams with a focus on AI, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

Education:

Degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the necessary skills and abilities.
