To assist in the provision of services in risk management, capital management and other analytical risk activities. Maintain databases and reporting functions; provides input into business decisions through the risk analysis of trends and business opportunities and conduct analysis of business needs in compliance with the Group derived risk management framework.

Your New Role :
  • Lead assessments and monitoring of risk and capital including risk appetites, key risk indicators and other qualitative considerations across material risk classes,
  • Develop and improve risk dashboards, risk analytics and governance processes that enhances risk management and culture.
  • Coordinate the preparation of risk management declarations and other attestations on annual basis.
  • Compliance with all material legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Adherence to relevant standards and good practice.
  • Delivery of relevant internal and external reporting.
  • Evaluate existing risk management policies cascaded from the Group and improve the operationalisation of supporting processes and procedures.
  • Guide business units in identifying, assessing and managing risk exposures within risk management framework.
  • Review the closure of incidents and issues, and the outcomes of annual risk controls self-assessments.   
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure adequate and timely renewal of corporate insurance covers.
  • Serve as the dedicated risk partner for assigned business units / functions and support the functional risk maturity self-assessment accordingly.
  • Assign tasks to, mentor and coach junior associates where required.
  • Collaborate with the local and other divisional teams on risk matters where required.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

About You:

  • Relevant years of experience in life / general insurance or financial services industry working in the above areas.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skill. Experience in other analytical tools would be added advantage.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and influencing skills.
  • Good critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize own work within defined procedures and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently but in a team environment.
  • Experience of working within the risk function or familiarity with insurance operations would be added advantage.
