About the Role

We are seeking a Paid Search Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for responsible for designing, implementing, managing and optimizing paid search campaigns for our journals across multiple platforms, with a primary focus on Google Search Ads, Display Ads, and YouTube video ads). You will ensure that campaigns are carried out based on the briefs received and will use insights to propose improvements and deliver optimizations.

The Paid Search Specialist plays a crucial role in driving traffic, engagement, and achieving our marketing goals.

This role reports directly to the Head of E-Marketing in STMJ, with a secondary reporting relationship with the Channel Manager for Paid Ads and Social, to ensure alignment between strategy and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, developing, and executing paid advertising campaigns across Google Search, Display Ads, and YouTube. Overseeing and managing new paid search campaigns, ad groups, and accounts, and support the creation of paid search marketing initiatives;
  • Conducting keyword research, audience targeting, and ad copywriting, providing creative copy suggestions with the help of AI tools;
  • Managing campaign budgets effectively and optimizing for key performance indicators (KPIs). Maintaining and monitoring keyword bids, managing daily and monthly budget caps, impression share, quality score, and other metrics;
  • Analyzing campaign performance data and providing regular reports with actionable insights. Evaluating search results and performance across major search channels, monitoring and administering web analytics dashboards, reports, and key reporting tools;
  • Staying up to date on the latest industry trends and best practices in paid advertising;
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to ensure campaigns align with overall marketing strategies;
  • Communicating project development, timelines, results, and dependencies to stakeholders and team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or a related field;
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing concepts and best practices;
  • Solid, relevant work experience, managing paid advertising campaigns on Google Search Ads, Display Ads, and YouTube Ads. Certifications in Google Marketing Platforms are a plus but not required;
  • Ability to deliver insightful campaign performance reports. Experience with campaign tracking and reporting tools. Experience with Google Tag Manager and Adobe Analytics is a plus;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Good communication and organizational skills. Confident in effectively dealing with internal stakeholders;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to daily responsibilities. Strong ability to organize and prioritize workload, demonstrating competency in multitasking;
  • Understanding of the publishing industry and dynamics.
