Job description

Circle is a financial technology company at the epicenter of the emerging internet of money, where value can finally travel like other digital data — globally, nearly instantly and less expensively than legacy settlement systems. This ground-breaking new internet layer opens up previously unimaginable possibilities for payments, commerce and markets that can help raise global economic prosperity and enhance inclusion. Our infrastructure – including USDC, a blockchain-based dollar – helps businesses, institutions and developers harness these breakthroughs and capitalize on this major turning point in the evolution of money and technology.

What You’ll Be Part Of

Circle is committed to visibility and stability in everything we do. As we grow as an organization, we're expanding into some of the world's strongest jurisdictions. Speed and efficiency are motivators for our success and our employees live by our company values: Multistakeholder, Mindfulness, Driven by Excellence and High Integrity. Circlers are consistently evolving in a remote world where strength in numbers fuels team success. We have built a flexible and diverse work environment where new ideas are encouraged and everyone is a stakeholder.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Circle is looking for a dynamic Director to lead our Corporate FP&A team. As a vital member of the team, you will lead the corporate budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes. You will also play a key role in putting together our quarterly analyses and forecasts for the board of directors for which our team works directly with the CFO to help craft the analyses and messaging.

What You'll Work On

  • Leading and managing the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic financial planning processes.
  • Partnering cross-functionally with accounting, tax, and treasury to ensure alignment across financial reporting, compliance, cash flow management, and strategic planning initiatives, while optimizing processes to support business objectives.
  • Playing a key role in developing quarterly Board of Directors and investor-level financial presentations in direct collaboration with the CFO, shaping the company’s financial narrative.
  • Maintaining and enhancing corporate financial models to forecast, track, and analyze financial performance across all three financial statements.
  • Implementing best-in-class FP&A tools, processes, and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Driving the evolution of Circle’s finance capabilities by contributing to ERP and EPM implementation initiatives and continuously optimizing finance processes across the organization.

You Will Aspire To Our Four Core Values

  • Multistakeholder - you have dedication and commitment to our customers, shareholders, employees and families and local communities.
  • Mindful - you seek to be respectful, an active listener and to pay attention to detail.
  • Driven by Excellence - you are driven by our mission and our passion for customer success which means you relentlessly pursue excellence, that you do not tolerate mediocrity and you work intensely to achieve your goals.
  • High Integrity - you seek open and honest communication, and you hold yourself to very high moral and ethical standards. You reject manipulation, dishonesty and intolerance.

What You’ll Bring To Circle

  • 12+ years of FP&A experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and leading teams.
  • Advanced proficiency and past experience in working with financial systems and building FP&A models in planning tools; Oracle, SAP, or Anaplan preferred.
  • Ability to build and nurture partnerships with stakeholders at all levels with effective communication.
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets / Microsoft Excel, using these tools effectively to create meaningful financial insights.
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting standards, how the financial statements interact, and an ability to digest dynamic three statement models.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, innovative startup environment characterized by rapid change and evolution.
  • High emotional intelligence, empathy, and self-awareness, emphasizing a team-oriented approach that prioritizes client and customer satisfaction.
  • Bachelor’s degree, providing you with a solid academic grounding in finance and/or accounting. MBA preferred.
  • You are energized by the promise of blockchain technology.
  • Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite.
