Job Description:

Zekelman Industries is seeking a Regional Sales Manager for the Wheatland Tube Pipe DivisionReporting to the Vice President of Sales, this experienced Sales Manager will lead their regional commercial team in identifying, developing, and increasing profitable growth for the business, while maintaining current business. This position will be responsible for a territory covering the western region with a focus on energy tubular products, including but not limited to, API 5L Line Pipe and API 5CT Casing, as well as standard pipe and sprinkler pipe. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Implement product, pricing, and market strategies to exceed forecasted revenue and volume goals. 
  • Develop, execute, and manage regional sales budgets.   
  • Establish individual performance standards, goals, and objectives for a regional team of direct reportsProviding continual feedback and mentorship to keep the team on target. 
  • Foster new and existing customer relationships with key decision makers. 
  • Identify and develop new strategic account targets based on the company value proposition. 
  • Monitor and report on competitive activity, and triangulate market information across the region. 
  • Negotiate supply agreements with customers to ensure a return on resources invested. 
  • Develop an expertise of our suite of E-commerce offerings and promote adoption amongst the commercial team and customers within the region 
  • Drive visibility and credibility by being involved in industry trade associationsAttend industry events and tradeshows, both regional and at a national level. 
  • Seek out opportunities to maintain a leadership position on new product development. 
  • Motivate the sales team and promote strong organizational culture. 
  • Communicate, integrate, and coordinate regularly and broadly to the sales team and with multiple departments across the organization. 
  • Manage regional expenses and submit reports in a timely fashion. 
  • Responsible for special projects as assigned. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required with 7+ years of previous industry experience in a sales leadership role. 
  • Goal-oriented, energetic, aggressive and organized team player who is able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. 
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial personality who can make strategic decisions with a sense of velocity and urgency. 
  • Strong knowledge of the steel pipe industry - specifically PVF, fire protection, and API line pipe markets - with a curiosity to constantly learn more about the business. 
  • Highly engaging & outgoing personality – ideal candidate must thrive in daily interactions and work/social interactions with all levels of team members, customer prospects and top vendors. 
  • Ability to identify key issues in a situation and think creatively and strategically when faced with internal and external challenges. 
  • Effective leadership with the ability to coach, mentor and motivate a multi-discipline staff of business professionals. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical, financial, and legal documents. 
  • Must have excellent, math, analytical, negotiating, and reasoning skills. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Ability to travel weekly to target client locations within the assigned region 
  • Regular, full-time, predictable attendance is an essential function of this role 
  • Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
