Job description

COMPANY
L&R is one of the largest distributors and purchasers of cosmetics in the United States. We now distribute over 40,000 items (cosmetics, toys, school supplies, hosiery, hair accessories, OTC, HBA, and more) through 3 regional warehouse locations in Arkansas, New Jersey, and Nevada.

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Retail Performance Analyst to join our L&R Albertsons Sales Team. This critical role will support the Albertsons National Merchandising Team and L&R’s Albertsons Sales Team by managing large data sets across multiple product categories, generating actionable insights, and delivering high-quality analytics to drive profitable growth.

This new position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the role, develop analytic tools, and find innovative ways to add value for both L&R and Albertsons. With exposure to diverse categories and high-profile visibility, the Retail Performance Analyst will be instrumental in building reports, scorecards, dashboards, and conducting ad hoc analysis to uncover insights that drive strategic decisions for L&R and for Albertsons.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis and Insights:
  • Provide analytical support for category management and sales initiatives, including category reviews, assortment planning, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Develop dashboards, scorecards, and weekly/monthly reports to monitor performance and trends.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to identify opportunities and provide proactive recommendations.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality control of all data and reports, collaborating with data vendors and internal teams as needed.

Category Strategy Development:
  • Support the L&R Albertsons Sales Team and Albertsons National Merchandising Team in achieving category growth goals by delivering data-driven insights and strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies for optimizing product assortment, shelving, and pricing.
  • Leverage shopper insights, sales data, and industry trends to recommend solutions that drive profitability and align with Albertsons’ goals.

Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with internal business managers and Albertsons National Merchandising Team to ensure the delivery of actionable and timely insights.
  • Participate in the development of sales presentations, incorporating data from multiple sources to address business challenges effectively.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Albertsons and L&R’s internal teams, ensuring alignment and seamless execution of initiatives.

Innovation and Impact:
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and develop new analytic tools that add value to the business.
  • Shape the role by introducing innovative approaches to category management and analytics, creating a lasting impact within L&R and Albertsons.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.

Work Experience Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of related work experience in category management, data analytics, or a similar role.
  • Experience with retailer POS, syndicated data, and/or category management tools is an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Power BI and advanced macros is a strong asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proactive mindset with a drive for results and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (If applicable)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
     
WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS
Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

TRAVEL
Up to 10% travel required

PAY RANGE:  
$55,000 - $60,000 per year
