About the role:

The Document Specialist plays a critical role in supporting residential and consumer lending operations. This position oversees the efficient management of lending mail, loan payoffs, and digital files archived within the credit union. This position is essential in assisting the lending operations team by handling outgoing mail and checks and ensuring the smooth and timely execution of key functions. 

This position has a starting hourly rate of $18.94, but your offer amount may be increased with relevant work experience and transferrable skills.  

 

A Day in the life of a Document Specialist can look like:

  • Oversee the processing of all incoming and outgoing mail within the lending department, ensuring each piece is efficiently archived, distributed, or handled appropriately based on its specific type and urgency.
  • Oversee, prepare, and distribute loan disclosures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Handle the final documents out queue for timely processing and delivery, accurately track and file mortgage documents in Simplifile, and prepare documentation for sold loans, ensuring secure storage of original notes. 
  • Generate, scan, and promptly mail adverse action letters, release of liens, and title packets as needed, ensuring compliance and timely communication.
  • Efficiently scan, index, and categorize documents into the credit union’s imaging system, ensuring accurate organization and easy retrieval.
  • Act as the primary contact for our internal audit team with requested documentation for examinations and audits.

 

What you bring to the table:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience working with loan documents or related experience. 
  • Proficiency using Excel and Word.

 

You might also have:

  • 2 years of experience working in an office setting with clerical duties.
