ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Hydrogeologist provides technical expertise in hydrogeology, groundwater modeling, conceptual site modeling, environmental investigations, remediation, and reporting. This role works on multiple projects, maintains project schedules, and completes work safely and in accordance with approved work planning documents. The Hydrogeologist coordinates with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, and internal staff.
Job Functions:
- Supports preparation of work planning documents and associated deliverables.
- Provides qualitative and quantitative interpretation of complex hydrogeologic systems and develop analytical and numerical groundwater models to characterize flow and contaminant migration pathways and assess impacts to remediation efforts
- Coordinates groundwater mapping results with environmental sequence stratigraphy efforts and provides collaborative interpretation in determining contaminant transport pathways · Assists with cost estimates and proposals for projects.
- Supports field investigations, data collection, subcontractor oversight, and implementation/operation & maintenance of remediation systems · Assists with preparation of after-action reports, remedial action completion reports, groundwater monitoring reports, site investigation reports, and other data deliverables.
- Develops technical fact sheets, briefings, and programmatic status reports.
- Willingness to be trained on / research innovative technologies.
- Performs research and quantitative data analysis in support of a broad range of technical projects.
- Review reports for assessing functional and technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory guidance.
- Travels to client and project sites as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, earth sciences, or an equivalent field that meets PG registration requirements
- 3-7 year of relevant experience
- Familiarity with Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) programs and Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC), and United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) clients
- 40-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) and annual refreshers
- Specialized computer skills including database applications (MS Access, SQL, or equivalent), AutoCAD and/or GIS, groundwater modeling, and one or more geologic evaluation packages (e.g. gINT, Rockworks, Surfer, Leapfrog, MVS)
- Demonstrated ability to fulfill commitments on schedule and meet clients' service expectations and requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients
- Demonstrated effectiveness in building working relationships and interacting with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness, as well as a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables
- Strong interpersonal, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet multiple schedule deadlines
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to pass a law enforcement/financial background check for access to military and government facilities, as needed
- On track for PG Registration; preferred
- Prior federal and DoD experience; preferred
