Who Are We Looking For?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax & Treasury Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This position requires an individual with strong expertise in filing sales and use tax returns, as well as knowledge of state and federal income tax returns. The ideal candidate will have experience with bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations and will play a key role in ensuring the company’s compliance with all tax and treasury obligations.


What You’ll Do:

  • Sales/Provincial and Use Tax:
    • Prepare and file accurate sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
    • Review sales and use tax compliance to ensure accuracy and timeliness of filings.
    • Prepare and file accurate international tax returns across multiple countries.
    • Analyze transactions to ensure proper tax treatment and documentation.
  • Income Tax Compliance:
    • Work with outside tax firms to file state and federal income tax returns, including the preparation of supporting schedules and workpapers.
    • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide proactive risk assessments and recommendations.
    • Assist with tax provision calculations and the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings.
  • Treasury Management:
    • Manage daily cash positioning and liquidity to ensure optimal cash flow across the organization.
    • Develop and implement strategies for short-term and long-term cash management, including forecasting cash needs and working capital optimization.
    • Oversee banking relationships, including managing cash accounts, payment processes, credit facility reporting and obligations and investment strategies.
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper funding of accounts and timely disbursements.
    • Reconcile monthly bank statements
  • Audit Support:
    • Assist in preparing audit schedules and workpapers as needed for external audits and internal reviews.
    • Respond to auditor inquiries and assist with audits of tax returns, financial statements, and reconciliations.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Recommend improvements to accounting and tax processes to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Other Duties as Assigned

 

Your Skills and Abilities:

    • Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel (advanced level).
    • Strong knowledge of state and federal tax laws, including sales and use tax regulations.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex tax laws.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and management.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or experience in a related field (CPA or equivalent a bonus).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on sales and use tax returns and state/federal income tax returns.
    • Experience with treasury management, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and banking relationships.

Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 Annual DOE

 

Location: Remote (or Hybrid depending on location).
