Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $129,500.00 - $194,300.00. The salary rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's experience. In addition to the salary range identified herein, this role is also eligible for an annual incentive/commission target of $70,000.00.

Job Description

The Senior Manager, Performance Management is responsible for building, developing, and managing a high-performing team of performance managers dedicated to representing our suite of eCommerce and Deal Central products. This role is pivotal in driving transformation and product utilization across the organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and drive the strategy and vision for performance management, meeting with stakeholders throughout the organization to influence and gain buy-in.
  • Team Management: Lead a highly motivated nationwide remote client-facing team by driving, inspiring, and managing with a strong focus on leading clients through the transformation of their retail processes.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement operational plans for Performance Management with short to mid-term impact on client utilization and retention. Execute plans where external clients’ needs are the driving force behind priorities, decisions, and activities.
  • Engagement Strategies: Formulate engagement strategies, plans, and forecasts to effectively remove barriers to revenue retention and growth objectives. Resolve internal and client-facing performance blockers for the team.
  • Thought Leadership: Be a thought leader and drive strategy for team engagement models with clients and internally. Represent Cox as a thought leader, knowledgeable on the latest industry trends and competitive insights.
  • Client Relationships: Develop deep relationships with key contacts internally across the organization and externally with dealerships within the portfolio to ensure client retention and growth.
  • Performance Improvement: Exceed goals and benchmarks for client retention and utilization. Monitor and measure the team’s performance and drive continuous improvement. Gather feedback/input from the team to identify possible gaps/negative trends and drive improvement across behavior and people knowledge/development.
  • Analytics and Strategy: Leverage analytics to identify and recommend strategies to drive client experience and adoption. Collaborate with peers to develop a community of practice focused on holistic and cohesive client solutions based on geography and common needs.
  • Talent Development: Ensure the team is equipped with the knowledge and skills to retain across multiple products and platforms. Enable the team to identify strategic opportunities in multiple BU product groups. Implement strategic plans for mid-term workforce and staffing of performance management and ensure the availability of talent necessary to accomplish business results.
  • Client Escalation: Oversee interactions with "at-risk" customers to reinforce product value, increase dealer utilization, and reduce churn impact. Serve as an escalation point for critical relationships with high-profile dealer groups.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide guidance, leadership, and feedback to help the teams deliver strategic value to clients to ensure client retention and product utilization. Contribute to the development of operational plans using metrics to drive performance for client-facing roles within the team.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 8 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 6 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 3 year experience in a related field; or 12 years’ experience in a related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in a management or leadership role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in a Cox Automotive retail Performance Management capacity (vAuto, Stockwave, VinSolutions, Dealertrack DMS, Dealertrack F&I, Xtime, Dealer.com, KBB ICO)
  • Proven ability to develop strategy from vision to execution.
  • Strong written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively work with all levels at an automotive dealership or dealer group and internally throughout the organization.
  • Proven ability to lead remote teams across the nation, driving vision and collaboration of team.
  • Ability to maneuver comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics. Proven ability to influence a wide range of audiences.
  • Proven ability to create high-performing teams, develop and grow leaders for tomorrow, and hold high accountability to motivate strong performance.
  • Proven ability to implement talent workforce plans to meet future business needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of technologies, screen share technologies, and other relevant software systems.
  • Knowledge of Cox Automotive product suite and business benefits.
  • Ability to travel potentially up to 50%, although the exact amount may vary depending on client demands. Travel consists of in-market and overnight or occasional weekends.
