Everfield Payments are an ambitious and innovative embedded payments business working inside a company that buys, builds, and grows European vertical market and specialist software companies, providing them with the tools they need to move to the next level. Our intention is to transform the way Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) integrate payment acceptance into their solutions. With a small but rapidly growing team, we are focused on delivering exceptional, scalable payment solutions tailored to the needs of the European market. 
 

The Role 

As the Head of Sales, you will develop and lead the commercial strategy, go-to-market (GTM) roll out and operational delivery of significant revenue growth for Everfield and its group companies across Europe. You will lead all aspects of our commercial pipeline and delivery.  

You will lead the embedded payments growth of Everfield group (embedded finance at a later stage) and staff a small team of commercial payments experts to support our group companies in both commercial strategy, process and deal closing. Working at the intersection of customer needs, market trends, and deep vertical knowledge, you will play a pivotal role in driving the conversion of merchants to our in-house payments proposition, powered by world class Payments partners.  

You will collaborate closely with the Head of Payments, commercial leads, and group company executive and commercial teams as well as external partners to ensure individual company targets and group targets are outperformed and reporting on transparently to the group.

What you will do: 

Group commercial strategy 

  • Define the vision and strategy for our embedded payments commercial rollout, ensuring business requirements are met within the existing framework 

  • Closely partner with all group companies to downstream your vision and enable them to align their business and convert their own customer base to our payment proposition at pace 

  • Continuously take up feedback from within the group, your team and colleagues as well as external knowledge from the market across Europe to ensure our commercial strategy and operation can continuously outperform competition 

  • Ensure our end customers understand and fully benefit from the combination of their SaaS products and embedded payments to differentiate from incumbent banks and PSPs  


Commercial Operations 

  • Define and agree with product, group companies and Everfield operations on the end to end commercial operation 

  • Together with the Head of Operations develop our support model and tooling infrastructure (CRM) ensuring that Everfield provides best in class customer service both to merchants and portfolio companies 

  • Ensure our commercial operation reports with clarity across all levels of Everfield: from an individual sales rep all the way towards pan European status updates to investors 

  • Partner with the financial team to ensure and safeguard the profitability of all embedded payments customers  

Go to Market strategy 

  • Ensure that our group companies get the local support through your team to grow great commercial execution, close larger deals at healthy margins and accelerate merchant conversion  

  • Help define new commercial incentive plans across the group at various levels of the organisation to ensure all stakeholders execute in lockstep as a team 

  • Establish a continuous community of practice for embedded payments across the group with training, learning and a repeatable and scalable process as Everfield acquires new group companies across new verticals  

Collaboration and Leadership 

  • Recruit and lead a small team of account managers that will work in tandem with commercial staff and the executive of group companies to close deals at pace 

  • Become a trusted advisor on commercials both for Everfield group and our portfolio of group companies. Assist directly on the largest deals.  

  • Mentor and support team members in their professional development. 

  • Develop key relationships across the group and support our group companies to combine their SaaS GTM with your vision for embedded payments to reduce churn and increase growth  

  • Present, lead and represent the Everfield commercial execution in payments in partnership with the Head of Payments wherever it is necessary  

  • From time to time assist in M&A case building with a view on Payment's monetisation 

  • Work closely with the operations, product and support teams at Everfield as you design and grow our proposition across Europe 

  • Partner with our ISVs to ensure the successful launch and positioning of embedded payments within their existing commercial strategy  

  • Establish frameworks for measuring commercial success, including Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) conversion, deal closing and all aspects of reporting  

 
What we are looking for: 

Key Requirements 

  • Experience: Proven experience in commercial success and leadership in the payments industry 

  • Customer Focus: Strong understanding of ISV needs and retail integration challenges, particularly around points of sale, inventory systems, and terminals, in addition to core payments knowledge. 

  • Strategic Vision: Demonstrated ability to define and deliver an end to end commercial strategy that links to exceptional delivery of results  

  • Commercial skill: Broad general ability to think of new commercial models across both SaaS companies and Payments, leveraging every opportunity that presents itself 

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate at all levels required (from operational to investor level, from customer to partner)  

 
Desirable Experience 

  • Familiarity with product suite of Adyen or Stripe 

  • Experience in retail or embedded payments industries, especially in Point of Sale 

  • Understanding of the European payments landscape regarding local card schemes, alternative payments and proper pricing 

  • Experience in startup environments, especially building out commercial teams in complex environments 

  • Experience in broad embedded finance applications for SaaS companies
