Job Description

As a Bookkeeper in this fast-paced environment, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy across multiple locations. You’ll be at the heart of daily operations, ensuring timely data entry, reconciliation, and reporting for a business generating millions in revenue. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work with modern accounting software and contribute to the financial success of a rapidly expanding hospitality business. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing high-volume transactions, preparing critical financial reports, and supporting strategic decision-making processes.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily financial operations using Xero accounting software, ensuring all invoices and bills are entered accurately and promptly
  • Perform daily bank and credit card reconciliations, maintaining impeccable financial records
  • Generate crucial daily reports including cash position and accounts payable, providing real-time financial insights
  • Input and analyze sales data and inventory information for comprehensive period reporting
  • Collaborate with the finance team to streamline month-end closing processes, occurring every four weeks
  • Ensure accurate financial data across multiple business entities, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization
  • Assist in developing and implementing efficient financial processes to support the company’s rapid growth
  • Participate in special projects aimed at improving financial operations and reporting capabilities
Requirements
  • 1-5 years of bookkeeping experience, with a strong preference for candidates from the hospitality industry
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software; experience with POS and inventory management systems is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume transaction processing with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet daily deadlines
  • Experience working in a multi-entity business structure preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies quickly
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and management
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems and processes in a fast-growing environment
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
  • Familiarity with Canadian accounting standards and practices is highly desirable
