Job Description:
Baptist Health is looking for a Payroll Manager to join our team. This is a remote position that requires residency in KY or IN
Oversees payroll processing across the state. Stays current on payroll laws and other information related to payroll through reading, seminars, professional organizations and other available means. Works with ADP directly on payroll tax returns and W-2s. Works with Worker Comp Team and Workers Comp Insurance Companies. Maintains accurate tax, benefit and processing tables on the computer for all divisions. Researches and resolves payroll issues system wide. Performs work of a confidential nature and makes decisions within the scope of authority.
Oversees the processes for System-wide payroll. Includes responsibility for set-up, bi-weekly payroll, non-cash benefits, W-2’s, benefit balance management and other payroll maintenance functions.
Takes care of all tax filing and notices. Works with ADP on Tax Filing Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Tax Returns.
Maintains all tax, benefit and processing tables on the computer system for payroll.
Works with Workers Comp Team on providing system wide data and works with Auditors when audits are needed.
Supervises the work of the Payroll Specialists and Garnishment Specialist.
Trains and continually develops his or her skills to ensure accuracy and compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Assigns adequate level of work.
Remains current on payroll regulations and changes in law that affect payroll. Notify all appropriate personnel of changes and their impact.
Serves as Payroll system expert for all System entities. Oversees training new users on the system.
Ensures new HR Time and Attendance Policies are administer appropriately in the Time and Attendance System.
Provides support/assistance on other projects as assigned.
Promotes corporate identity through compliance with the BHS Corporate Responsibility program.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required
A bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent college level courses in accounting with five years' experience in a similar position.
In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations and procedures.
Hands-on management style, giving much attention to detail.
Proficiency with Excel, Word and payroll related software.
