Job description

This is a great opportunity to join the legal department of a rapidly growing international logistics company doing business in over 70 countries with multiple offices and subsidiaries outside of the U.S.. You will report directly to the General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer and play a key role in shaping and managing the company’s global compliance program. This position offers a competitive compensation package and the potential for career advancement and is fully remote.


As Global Director of Compliance, you will develop, implement, and oversee the global compliance program, ensuring that all operations and business activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have extensive compliance experience, preferably in trade and export control compliance or the logistics and freight forwarding industry. This is a new role that will start as an individual contributor position, with the potential to build and lead a team of global compliance professionals.


Minimum Qualifications for the Global Director of Compliance:

  • 10+ years of experience in compliance management, preferably within trade and export control compliance or the logistics and freight forwarding industry.
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or equivalent degree strongly preferred. Other advanced degrees may be considered.
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs laws, and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional - International (CCEP-I), Governance, Risk & Compliance Professional (GRCP), or Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) are a plus.


Position Details of the Global Director of Compliance:

  • Type of Role: Temporary-to-Permanent
  • Schedule: Full-time
  • Location: Fully Remote (The company HQ and general counsel are in Atlanta, with a distributed legal team)
  • Compensation & Benefits: Competitive and commensurate with experience


Compensation:

  • Pay: The annualized pay for this position is in the $230,000 to $240,000 range, based on experience, qualifications, and credentials. The permanent role also incorporates includes performance-based bonuses.
  • Benefits: A comprehensive suite of benefits are provided.
