Ensures coordination and continuity of patient care for transplant patients in order to maintain organized and efficient support to staff and other health care professionals. Responsible for identifying the patient's alterations in health; assessing the patient's response to treatment protocols; communicating appropriate data to physician staff; implementing nursing interventions based upon established treatment protocols; and anticipating potential outcomes for patients at risk for complications. Must demonstrate ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and organ(s) transplanted and provide care according to protocols and with practice of nursing.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate of an accredited four (4) year, baccalaureate program in nursing required. We will consider an ASN who is in the process of obtaining their BSN; master's degree in nursing or Master's degree 'eligible' (i.e. completion of academic coursework) or related health care field preferred. Current license as a registered nurse (R.N.). Minimum of three years of experience in nursing with at least two (2) years medical/surgical experience with transplant patient population; critical care or transplantation experience preferred; prefer knowledge in transplant immunology, technical aspects of surgery, interpretation of diagnostic and laboratory data, and clinical management of patients. If experienced in all areas listed, will consider enrollees in baccalaureate program.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a "non-frequent driver".
Licensure/Certification/Registration: BSN or Bachelors in other heath related field required. We will consider an ASN who is in the process of obtaining their BSN. Current RN license in the State of Florida ARNP or RN.
