Are you a motivated Presales Security Specialist with experience in a security-focused customer facing position?


We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Pre-Sales Security Specialist to join our team. In this customer-facing role, you will be the key resource for addressing security-related inquiries from prospective and existing clients, showcasing our platform's robust security posture. You will collaborate closely with internal security subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accurate and effective communication about our security protocols and compliance measures.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement:

  • Respond to customer questions about the security of our solutions, including cloud and hosting security, data security, application vulnerability management, and compliance.
  • Conduct security-focused presentations and Q&A sessions during pre-sales engagements.
  • Serve as the go-to expert for security-related concerns during RFP/RFI responses.

Internal Collaboration:

  • Partner with internal security SMEs to stay updated on the latest security protocols, features, and compliance certifications.
  • Ensure that all external communication reflects accurate and current security information.
  • Work closely with sales and pre-sales teams to align security discussions with broader customer objectives.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain security-related documentation and FAQ resources for the pre-sales team.
  • Track and report on common security inquiries to identify trends and recommend improvements to the customer engagement process.

Thought Leadership:

  • Stay informed about industry trends in cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management.
  • Represent the company at customer events, webinars, and conferences as a security expert.


Experience:

  • 5+ years in a security-focused role, preferably in a SaaS, cloud, or enterprise software environment.
  • Experience in a customer-facing position (e.g., pre-sales, technical sales, or consulting).
  • Comprehensive understanding of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and associated security considerations.
  • Familiarity with security configurations in major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of network security in the cloud, including firewalls, VPNs, and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs).
  • Expertise in data encryption standards for data at rest and in transit (e.g., TLS, AES).
  • Understanding of data residency, sovereignty, and privacy regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA.
  • Familiarity with secure data backup and disaster recovery practices.
  • Proficiency in authentication and authorization mechanisms, including SSO, OAuth, SAML, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • Knowledge of role-based access control (RBAC) and least privilege principles.
  • Familiarity with secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including static and dynamic code analysis tools.
  • Awareness of common application vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience with web application firewalls (WAFs) and runtime application self-protection (RASP).
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and certifications, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, PCI DSS, and NIST.
  • Familiarity with conducting or responding to security audits and assessments.
  • Knowledge of threat detection and monitoring tools, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solutions.
  • Experience in creating or managing incident response plans and performing root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with container and orchestration security (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) security tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline security.
  • Ability to evaluate the security posture of third-party services and APIs.
  • Understanding of supply chain risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent.
