Job description

The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for creating, executing, and maintaining test plans and strategies for RadarFirst. This will involve writing and updating automated tests, along with manual and exploratory testing. They will work with the development team, product managers, and other customer-facing teams to define and review requirements for new features and enhancements, in order to define the approach for comprehensive automation and regression testing. They will also recommend process improvements and tools to further develop a highly-efficient, continuous integration development environment.

This position can be based out of our HQ in Portland, OR, or can be remote anywhere in the U.S. Preference will be given to candidates in the Portland area.

Essential Responsibilities And Duties

  • Test strategy formulation will include decomposing the business and technical requirements into test case scenarios, defining test data requirements, and managing test case creation.
  • Development of the test case execution plan. Including black box testing, writing integration tests, managing issues, and status metrics. Working closely with the customer success and engineering teams to diagnose and reproduce customer issues and verify fixes.
  • Helping to mentor and direct more junior QA resources on implementing test plans/strategies.
  • Performing all testing activities for initiatives across one or more assigned projects, utilizing processes, methods, metrics, and software that ensure the quality, reliability, and security of our products.
  • Helping to architect and maintain an automated testing environment

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with industry-standard software testing tools and techniques for automation and test management, such as Selenium or Cucumber/Gherkin.
  • Experience writing test plans for SaaS application features and making go/no-go quality decisions
  • Experience testing web applications and APIs
  • Demonstrated use of automated testing tools and frameworks (Selenium, etc.)
  • Object-oriented programming experience with a computer language (preferably Java), understanding of SOLID principles, and knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with source control tools such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as JIRA
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
  • Strong communication skills, a passionate commitment to quality, and a collaborative, team-oriented working style
  • Prior experience performance/load testing a SaaS application is a plus.

The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $120,000 a year.
