The Roles

ABC International Development (ABCID) is looking for numerous Project Managers to join its team to drive and implement its contract and activity management, working with media development projects and partners across the Indo-Pacific region. The roles will work closely with a team based across Australia and the region to manage and deliver media and behaviour change communications projects that contribute to a more professional, diverse and inclusive media.

These are hands-on roles. You will be implementing as well as managing. The Project Manager is responsible for supporting program leadership to meet contractual obligations including finance and administration. Leading and working as part of a diverse team, empowering staff for success through a positive and inclusive culture, is critical.

Liaising with stakeholders, preparing reports and project plans, organising activities, juggling multiple priorities at once and ensuring programs are delivered to schedule are key parts of the role.

About You

We are seeking well organised, flexible, and enthusiastic relationship builders who have experience in international development project management or comparable Australian community development or government experience.

You Will Bring To Our Team

  • Grant and project management expertise - such as experience working with non-government or government organisations managing complex international development grants and projects that demonstrates your strong management, administration, finance, organisational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Diversity of perspectives and cultural knowledge – such as Indigenous Australian and Torres Strait Islander and/or Indo-Pacific lived experience or heritage, and/or disability lived experience.
  • Commitment to public interest media – through having worked in the media or development sector, being committed to the role independent media operating in the public interest plays in societies.

About ABC International Development (ABCID)

The role of ABC International Development is to support better democratic governance by promoting public interest journalism and media that holds businesses, governments and other institutions in the Indo-Pacific region to account. It also enables media in the Indo-Pacific to connect with Australia and Australian values.

As part of ABC International, ABCID works with media organisations and communication partners across the Indo-Pacific region to connect them with communities and empower people to have a voice on issues affecting their lives. It supports storytellers through training, sharing media expertise and providing technical and program support to partners, in three areas - skills and abilities, content creation and broadcast, and research.
