Role Summary
Responsible for day-to-day operations and execution of commercial and government contracting, GTN analytics/reporting, distributor operations, and third party-administrator (TPA) obligations. This is an exciting opportunity for a subject matter expert to use their technical expertise in government pricing and market access to manage work at the intersection of policy, government pricing reporting, G2N forecasting, and compliance.
This role will manage responsibilities and output of third-party contractor support within the government pricing and operations team. This role reports to the Director, Government Pricing and Operations and collaborates with external and internal cross-functional partners, including finance, legal, account management team, trade and distribution, sales, marketing, patient support services and compliance. This dynamic role provides a wide range of exposure to work across the government pricing and operations function and will be an excellent opportunity to make an impact across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
Government Pricing & Reporting:
- Leads monthly & quarterly pricing submission preparation. Accountable for accurate and timely submissions of all GP reporting obligations.
- Assists in the development of policies, procedures, and calculation methodologies supporting the 340B and FSS government price calculations.
- Manages reasonable assumptions, maintains communications, and integrity of government programs.
- Manages Class of Trade schema and channel segmentation strategy verification.
- Manages all full lifecycle of pricing and rebate operations in government channels.
- Manages all activities relating to government contracting and related administration and ensures company adherence to health care laws and regulations.
- Manages VA small business plan and process for federal supply schedule.
- Manages government price reporting vendor including resources and ensures processes and procedures are well-documented.
- Medicaid and 340B management.
- Proactively engage with customers on proper utilization based on government program policies.
- Navigate complex environment to identify diversion and arbitrate settlements to recover lost revenue.
Contracting:
- Responsible for compliance management and rebate management
- Provides guidance, input, and reporting to drive management decisions.
- Helps build a control framework by adhering to SOP’s and policies that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial, legal, and tax requirements.
- Manage GPO discounts/rebates and communications for channel discounting.
Price Strategy:
- Supports strategic initiatives related to channel management and optimization.
- Surveillance and analysis of federal and state healthcare laws and regulations to ensure availability of critical market insight on potential changes to pricing and market access for Servier products.
- Analyzes the impact of regulations and determines best course of action for business and compliance.
- Manages price schedules and communications to trade channel partners and US drug price compendiums.
- Supports ad-hoc pipeline planning and G2N/contracting scenario planning calculation activities and projects.
- Participates in the goal-setting process for market access performance and establishes metrics and processes for real-time measurement in collaboration with leadership to find opportunities for innovation.
Data and Analytics:
- Provide insights to gross-to-net forecasting accuracy and business decision making.
- Understands and analyzes channel trends and performance for gross-to-net and profitability.
- Chargeback oversight, reconciliation, and analysis.
- Proactively identifies potential data and analytical needs of internal customers to achieve overall business objectives. Assesses impact of product lifecycle changes.
- Provides quantitative and qualitative insights to business partners with business performance reviews, contracting strategies, trade management and business initiatives.
- Subject matter expert on pricing data architecture and hierarchy.
Education and Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, health administration, pharmaceutical management, or related field required. M.B.A. or C.P.A. preferred.
- 8+ years of professional experience with strong focus in pricing and contracting in the pharmaceutical, biotech industry, medical device, or life science consulting.
- Understanding of market access, managed care and government contracting, government pricing related business processes and operations, as well as contracting, sales, chargebacks, and rebate processes preferred.
- A strong and meticulous attention to detail, with proven experience developing and implementing successful process and controls.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in teams and with autonomy as necessary.
- Proven ability to use analysis, reporting, and data assessment to support actionable business insights and decision making.
- Possess exceptional communication skills, both oral, written and presentation skills.
- Strong project management skills and capabilities to negotiate and facilitate alignment among various internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient with MS Office. Advanced Excel experience required. Strong PowerPoint skills.
Travel and Location
- Preference Boston based hybrid role with 1-2 days/week in the office.
- Remote consideration for the right candidate.
- Travel 4-6 times annually.
