Newtek Bank, N.A. is looking to add a
Compliance Analyst to the team.
The
Compliance Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the monitoring, independent review and assessment of the Compliance framework for the Bank. Assist with independent reviews of all Bank activities to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the system of internal control and operating procedures in accordance with specified compliance risk objectives. The
Compliance Analyst will review processes in place for adequacy of oversight, tracking and reporting of compliance program risks that includes an internal control structure, new products, training, issues management, complaint resolution, marketing material review, and monitoring and reporting. The role will be reporting directly to the Compliance Officer and will be required to work independently and cross-functionally.
As a Compliance Analyst, You Will
- Perform regulatory compliance Monitoring and Testing according to the Compliance Management Program. This includes planning the review, assessing risk, performing field work in accordance with regulatory guidance, evaluating internal controls for adequacy, and documenting work performed substantiating conclusions reached.
- Independently conduct detailed analyses/testing of business functions and processes against applicable compliance requirements.
- Work with compliance management with monitoring schedule and tracking report exceptions.
- Support with agency and escalated consumer complaints.
- Evaluate, coordinate and respond to complaints and ensure all supporting documentation is properly maintained and resolved timely.
- Review and approve bank-wide marketing material across all media platforms for appropriate disclosure language with applicable laws and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with management and other departments to ensure applicable policies and procedures are efficiently and effectively implemented.
- Assist management in regulatory examination preparation, including document gathering and tracking, as necessary.
- Keep abreast of regulatory and industry developments relative to compliance matters and complaint handling process.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge with federal laws pertaining to consumer protections and applicable state laws, including Reg. B (ECOA), Reg. V (FCRA), FDPA, Reg. E (EFTA), Reg. DD (TISA), Reg. CC (EFA), Reg. C (HMDA), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), and more.
- Experience in Compliance monitoring and testing.
- Serve as liaison between the various departments and consultants during compliance reviews.
- Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Ability to prioritize different tasks and manage shifting priorities while maintaining strong organizational skills.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret various state/government regulations.
- Requires skills in analysis, problem-solving and decision making.
- Excellent written, and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Education & Certification Requirements
BA or BS degree preferred
2-4 years of experience in Bank Regulatory Compliance, regulatory examination, or Internal Auditing, with thorough knowledge of practices, principles, and inter-relationships of banking functions.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year
