The Regional Sales Director will drive the creation of cloud-based solution opportunities, engaging with senior executives in the Energy and Utilities sectors. The role involves collaborating with internal VertexOne teams to devise tailored sales strategies, identifying and qualifying opportunities in areas such as CIS, Customer Engagement, application maintenance and hosting, business analytics, and consulting services.


Essential Job Duties:

• Position VertexOne as a premier provider of SaaS solutions and services for the Utility Industry

• Develop territory plans and strategies to identify key utilities to become VertexOne clients within the assigned geographic territory and Mid-market serving 25k-125k accounts

• Develop working relationships with evaluation consultants, partners, and influencers

• Develop account plans for key clients to identify areas of opportunity and required VertexOne resources

• Establish relationships with key client executives to create excitement that results in greater awareness, credibility, and additional business opportunities

• Work with internal resources in pursuit of business opportunities

• Sell the entire portfolio of VertexOne Business Services solutions

• Become a trusted advisor with key clients by displaying deep subject matter knowledge of utility’s operational systems

• Attend trade shows, associations, conferences and serve on boards/committee’s as appropriate

• When required, and qualified, respond to RFIs and RFPs

• Lead the engagement team in establishing and presenting competitive and winning proposals

• Update and track all sales activities in VertexOne’s CRM system


Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years sales experience and familiarity with account management in the Technology, Energy, and Utilities industry

• Experience in consulting and selling complex solutions and services

• Experience in selling SaaS solutions

• Experience in leading diverse teams through a positive, collaborative approach in developing and selling client solutions

• Track record of overachievement of quota and building client relationships

• Utility and/or governmental experience is strongly preferred

• Experience and desire to grow and drive new business in underserved territories

• Maintain high client retention rate through strong senior executive relationship skills and leadership

• Energetic and passionate to achieve goals and client loyalty

• Strong business orientation, judgment, and acumen

• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with fellow associates to deliver the best solution to the client

• Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

• High integrity business leader working to create successful environments for all parties

• Strong intellectual horsepower and curiosity

• Good analytical and organizational skills to help focus time and energy

•Able to think outside the box and accept nothing less than the best possible solution for each and every deal he/she leads

•MS Office proficiency

•Salesforce or similar CRM experience


Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related area preferred


Must live in the Following Region:

• Remote, US-base (East/Central Region)

• Ability to travel 50% of the time
