Job Summary

As the NetApp Professional Services Consultant (Technical Lead), you will primarily provide our NetApp customer advanced storage consulting to ensure successful Managed Services delivery outcomes. In this role, you will be expected to provide the guidance, direction, policy making, and at times, design decisions (in partnership with customer storage engineering and/or NetApp Solution Engineering) for operational challenges and/or new solutions.

You will act as a senior technical liaison for NetApp on Major Incident Management calls, incident troubleshooting, and Problem Management including the preparation of Root Cause Analyses. This position requires an articulate, consultative, dynamic storage expert with excellent communication skills (written & spoken) who thrives while presenting and also mentoring. The ideal candidate will be a master relationship builder who can quickly build trust and credibility with direct and cross functional stakeholders and customers.

To Be Successful, You’ll Need Experience Such As

  • Excellent analytical/problem solving abilities and leadership skills
  • Proven history of successful engagements with limited supervision leading remotely located operational delivery teams
  • Deep experience in implementation and troubleshooting (especially performance issues) of a very large environment with NetApp AFF, SnapCenter, SnapCreator and DR technologies
  • Must have extensive experience with NetApp MetroCluster
  • Deep experience of FlexGroups and FlexCache
  • Prior consulting experience, providing strategic and tactical planning for managing storage (i.e. capacity, provisioning, troubleshooting, etc.). Broad exposure to a variety of technologies/concepts in a distributed environment, such as IaaS, PaaS, Hybrid Cloud, Private Cloud, Public Cloud
  • EXPERT Proficiency in the following Specialty Storage Solutions: NAS (NFS, CIFS) & SAN (FC, iSCSI)
  • Experience in setting up disaster recovery solution using SnapMirror, scheduled Snapshots in NetApp for instantaneous user managed data recovery
  • Expert experience on NetApp C-Mode (9.7 or above), AIQUM, OCUM, OCI, DII (formerly CI)
  • The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert
  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance
  • Scripting such as Ansible, Perl and Power Shell would be advantageous
  • Willing to be part of an ‘on call’ weekend rotation that will involve being available on a 1 in 5 rotation
  • Experience and proficiency in design & implementation of NetApp Cloud solutions (especially Google Cloud Platform), including Cloud ONTAP, Cloud ONTAP HA, CVO is a plus, but not a requirement

Education And Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience is required. 10+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Master of Science: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience while working in a highly regulated financial arena
  • Experience with change control process and impact and risk assessments
  • Experience building/designing automation workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects
  • Must be NCDA ONTAP, NCIE SAN, NCSIE & NCSA-HC certified
  • Google Cloud Certification is preferred
  • Preferred prior Windows, Unix or CISCO related certifications
