Influencing Officer.

Salary: £30,000 per annum.

Location: Remote.

Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week.

A Bit About The Role 

This is an exciting new opportunity to join Action for Children as an Influencing Officer on a Permanent Contract.

In this critical role, you will support strategic leadership across all areas of Influencing and support the Policy, Campaigns and Public Affairs teams. Collaborating with leaders across the organisation, your passion, political knowledge, and innovative thinking will help us to secure political change for disadvantaged children, young people, and families across the UK.

How You'll Help To Create Brighter Futures By

  • Undertaking evidence gathering and research and conducting policy analysis and development.
  • Writing responses to government consultations, briefings, and campaigns communications on policy issues.
  • Keeping up to date with current trends, legislation, and policy.
  • Maintaining relevant research databases, budget updates, interview schedules and commissioning processes.
  • Managing communication and liaison with staff, supporters, and stakeholders.
  • Providing support to the team with organising events (such as party conferences, campaign activities and parliamentary events).
  • Representing the Influencing Team at internal meetings and external coalitions/networks/meetings, as required.

  • Strong research and intelligence gathering skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret and translate complex information.
  • Good knowledge of the political system in Westminster, and an understanding of the various access points available to achieve influencing objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning skills to support the design and delivery of influencing activities.
  • Highly organised and ability to create and maintain effective systems and processes.
  • Good people skills and the ability to work with a range of colleagues and stakeholders.
