Job Description:
GDIT is seeking a Lead DevSecOps Evangelist to support a strategic technology offering within our Software Factory (SWF) and DevSecOps Capability Team in our Civilian CTO group. The Lead DevSecOps Evangelist will support several initiatives across GDIT’s three divisions and should demonstrate capabilities and experience to help advance the key focus areas below:
- Assist with the continued standup and expansion of the capabilities provided through the GDIT Software Factory (SWF)
- Servant leadership in an DevSecOps architect, engineering and coaching capacity for platform teams to evolve in their abilities to become high performing teams
- Serve as a change agent and transformation enabler by providing thought leadership on modern, everything (*)-as-code, cloud and container-native solutions & practices
- Provide DevSecOps support to programs, teams, and customers including developing whitepapers, guides and playbooks that advance DevSecOps approaches and execution
- Facilitate and provide expertise to teams to support both DevSecOps platform development and development teams in gaining maturity in maximizing delivering value to customers
MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES
- Architecting and hands-on ability in maintaining and enhancing software / infrastructure as code (IaC) build, test, and deployment CI/CD pipelines
- Evolve and enhance the maturity for a self-service platform-as-a-service Software Factory
- Onboard development teams onto the Software Factory technical platform and integrate software and infrastructure components via automated pipelines
- Assist with determining guidelines and standards for deploying to AWS Cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes environments, including defining system and application security requirements
- Educating teams on adoption of DevSecOps practices and tooling, and supporting those practices and tools
- Development of white papers, solution documents and artifacts to support technical and business teams’ efforts to learn and benefit from Software Factory & DevSecOps approaches
- Assist proposal development in the pursuit of organic and inorganic growth, and lead customer engagements, presentations & marketing matters of the SWF across our divisions
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of the DevSecOps competencies to recommend innovations that enhance and/or provide a competitive advantage
- Utilize technical knowledge to recommend metrics, tools, and techniques for enhanced operational efficiency for program start-ups and existing modernization efforts
- Provide DevSecOps coaching to Agile teams and members of technical challenge cohorts
- Assist in the development and presentation of technical training curriculum - syllabus and curriculum design experience a plus
- Perform and support DevSecOps and Agile maturity assessments in collaboration with the Product and Delivery Agile coaches
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Successful candidate must be a US Citizen
- Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance; no conditions that would hinder obtaining/renewing Clearance
- BA/BS Degree (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of DevOps/Cloud experience
- Experience with Software Architecture, Engineering and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and/or DevOps related practices
- Familiar/foundational in at least one programming language
- Familiar/foundational with unit/functional/performance testing frameworks
- Experience with Git version control
- Experience with containerization build technologies and deployments for Kubernetes
- Experience providing program, portfolio and team level process, mentoring and coaching to senior leadership, portfolio managers and teams
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in working with teams and customers in developing, implementing, and coaching DevSecOps processes
- Proficiency with Agile lifecycle management (ALM) processes and tools
DESIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Exhibits a passion for DevSecOps techniques and technologies
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm and GitOps techniques
- Experience with Gitlab and GitLab CI/CD Pipelines preferred
- Experience with US Air Force Platform One’s Big Bang a plus
- Experience with Security Scanning Tools: Anchore, OpenSCAP, Prisma (Twistlock)
- Experience with Static Code Quality Scanning Tools like SonarQube
- Knowledge of secure development and software supply chain security practices
- Desire for continuous learning to remain current with related technology and practices
- Ability to handle a dynamic work environment

The likely salary range for this position is $196,389 - $265,703. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
