As a Lead Full Stack Engineer on the AI Enablement Team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable applications that leverage advanced AI capabilities to help Humana on this journey. Your work will be transformational for our company as we seek to enable enhanced productivity across a wide range of IT disciplines.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess a strong background in application development, platform engineering, and a passion for AI and machine learning technologies. You will need to have experience deploying and running cloud infrastructure, including an understanding of the Kubernetes runtime, and operational lifecycle for vended software applications. You will need to collaborate closely with agile development teams to enable new ways of working, and partner closely with other enterprise teams to develop standardize boiler plate code. Finally, you will need to lead by example, mentoring junior engineers, and have a delivery focused mindset in order to move Humana’s strategic AI objectives forward.

You will crush this role if (Required Qualifications)
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related program. Equivalent work experience also acceptable
- You have a minimum of 8 years in full stack development experience, this means hands on keyboard writing code
- You will need extensive knowledge of AI-based code generation platforms like GitHub CoPilot or Codeium
- You have experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
- You have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
- You are familiar with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- You are proficient in wide range of programming languages, including .NET, Java, Python, SQL, node.js, SalesForce, COBOL, DataBricks, Informatica, SSIS, Power BI, etc
- You know how to 'do the DevOps' and have experience with Enterprise DevOps platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, SonarQube, Artifactory, Launch Darkly, etc
- You are an excellent verbal and written communicator with the ability to engage developers on technical questions, and update leadership on progress
- You understand the interaction between Agile, Engineering, and DevOps practices and how maturity in all of these areas will ultimately lead to better outcomes for software delivery teams. You can coach other agile teams in these disciplines
- You have a proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- You must have a coach like mentality and be able to mentor and guide junior engineers to learn new skills
- You enjoy experimenting with new technologies and are able to troubleshoot complex issues leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- You demonstrate the ability to lead complex projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery
- You are comfortable working in Agile/Scrum methodologies and able to perform the duties of a lead engineer within the agile framework
- You understand how importance of source code health and know how to measure it using tools like SonarQube, CheckMarx, etc.
- You are experienced creating and defining software and infrastructure architecture and have the ability to articulate complex systems clearly
Preferred Qualifications - Bonus Points
- You hold a Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- You have familiarity with applying AI and machine learning techniques to business use cases
- You have experience running pilot programs, showcasing results, and iterating on feedback
- You have hands on experience doing statistical data analysis and finding key insights
- You understand operational aspects of platform engineering and can leverage monitoring and logging tools to ensure platform reliability
- You are passionate about engineering experience and can explain the importance of this as it relates to engineer productivity

- You'll be part of Enterprise Engineering Enablement organization, responsible for Enterprise DevOps and Engineer Experience

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$129,300 - $177,800 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
