Overview:

The Patient Access Specialist serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking addiction treatment services through PursueCare. This role is responsible for guiding patients through the intake and enrollment process, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience. The Patient Access Specialist facilitates timely access to care. This position plays a critical role in reducing barriers to treatment and providing compassionate, judgment-free support to individuals in need.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary contact for prospective patients, guiding them through the intake process with compassion and efficiency.
  • Convert patient leads into active participants in the PursueCare program.
  • Track and manage patient leads to ensure timely follow-up and engagement.
  • Schedule patients with the rapid access admission team to ensure services within 24 hours of first contact.
  • Address and resolve patient inquiries regarding payment options, collaborating with insurance coordinators as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Meet specific performance metrics related to patient conversion, engagement, and satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required.  Degree in human services, communications, business, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare customer service, inside sales, or an outbound call center environment preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven setting.

Qualifications & Key Competencies: 

  • Comfortable making cold calls and engaging with new patients and partners regularly.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse populations in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Persuasive and goal-oriented, with the ability to educate and motivate patients toward treatment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Comfort working with technology, including EHR/EMR systems and in-app communication tools.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
