Our client is a digital accounting firm that specializes in providing general accounting services to SMEs across Wales. They are committed to delivering a technology-driven experience while maintaining a personalized approach to client relationships. Their technology stack provides real-time financial data to help clients make informed business decisions and achieve their financial goals.

The firm operates as a paperless practice and utilizes software such as Go Proposal, Karbon, Xama, Active Workpapers, Tax Calc, Xero, Dext, and Inform Direct to enhance efficiency and client experience.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our client's team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Xero accounting software, be capable of preparing accounts up to the trial balance stage, and have a solid understanding of UK accounting principles and practices.

Additionally, a working knowledge of UK payroll software and HMRC processes is beneficial, as client onboarding and account administration form a significant part of the role.



Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize expert knowledge of Xero to manage and maintain clients' financial records efficiently.

  • Have a working knowledge of UK payroll systems and software; familiarity with HMRC processes is desirable.

  • Lead client onboarding, ensuring a smooth experience and setting the tone for a great long-term relationship.

  • Prepare accounts up to the trial balance stage, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

  • Utilize Dext, Prepare, and Precision to assist in financial data analysis and reporting.

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather necessary financial information for accurate reporting.

  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, tax returns, and other financial documentation.

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.

  • Identify discrepancies, errors, and irregularities in financial data and take corrective actions as needed.

  • Use Karbon practice software to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and offering professional financial guidance.

  • Stay updated with accounting regulations, industry practices, and software developments to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of five years' experience in general practice accounting.

  • Strong expertise in Xero accounting software is essential.

  • Proficiency in UK payroll software and HMRC processes is highly desirable.

  • Experience with Karbon practice software is advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of UK accounting principles and regulations.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.

  • Excellent communication skills for effective client and team collaboration.

  • A relevant accounting qualification is preferred but not essential.
