General Summary:
The Associate Director, North America Medical Excellence will assist with driving consistency through standardizing Field Medical systems, processes, and capabilities to support Field Medical team members as they engage HCPs across all Vertex disease areas within the region.
This position will partner closely with the North America Medical Excellence Director to identify, align, and build key initiatives such as key digital systems), processes (onboarding, analytics), and capabilities/skills (engagement model, coaching) for North America Field Medical colleagues. This role is highly collaborative, and you will be expected to effectively manage multiple projects, along with working across a variety of internal stakeholders.
This is a remote position. Travel to Global headquarters in Boston and within NA may be required up to 20% of the time.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide support for business-critical capabilities, initiatives and projects as identified by the Medical Excellence Director
Lead NA Business requirements, development, and training with DTE/Medical Innovation Lead for digital systems (CRM, CLM, PowerBI) and analytics (MSL KPIs)
Execute regional alignment of the Core Digital Medical Affairs Plan
Support NA MSL and HQ onboarding operations across disease areas (scientific curriculum updates, schedule, certifications)
Serve as Field Medical representative on various cross-functional committees
Knowledge and Skills:
Working knowledge of relevant Medical Affairs regulations and quality standards, with experience in supporting quality, compliance, and legal/ethics training
Demonstrates the ability to work independently and manage projects that require collaboration across functional areas
Innovative, strategic, solution-oriented mentality, with highly collaborative approach
Strong written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
Experience supporting customer relationship management (CRM) systems or other digital platforms
Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment, as well as a proven track record of working effectively in diverse teams involving multi-functional disciplines
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD)
5+ years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience with customer facing Medical Affairs experience
Pay Range:
$153,400- $230,100

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
