Who are you?:

You have 2+ years of software development experience, wielding Java or Scala like a pro.
Data structures and messaging technologies are your playground, and frameworks are your tools of choice.
You're a citizen of the cloud, fluent in RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, SOA, and microservices architectures.
AWS (EC2, S3, RDS) holds no secrets, and Docker is your trusted sidekick.
CI/CD is your mantra, with GitLab your preferred language.
You speak Linux/Unix fluently and can write shell scripts that would make the Terminator proud.
Translating business needs into elegant, consistent software design is your superpower.
You write clean, reusable, and reliable code because quality is in your DNA.
Unit testing, performance testing, and building testable code are your hallmarks.

As a Software Engineer II in the Foundation Engineering team you will work self-sustained in an agile team. Foundation Engineering enables the creation of mapping products that are highly available, performant, and near real-time. The Software Engineer will be a contributor on the team to deliver digital maps to major automakers, for e.g. BMWs, VWs, Audi, Daimler. You will work on a technology to collect and process road information from many sources, terabytes of data, including car sensors from millions of cars on the road. Our services convert this input into a digital map delivered back to the cars and used for navigation, driver assistance, and even autonomous driving.
