Data Modeler

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Modeler to design and optimize conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support business intelligence, data warehousing, and operational data needs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data modeling tools(MagicDraw or SQL Data Modeler), SQL, database design, and data governance while ensuring consistency, integrity, and scalability across data ecosystems. This role requires close collaboration with business analysts, data engineers, and database administrators to align data structures with business objectives and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business applications and analytics.
  • Develop normalized and denormalized data models for OLTP and OLAP environments.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and governance across systems.
  • Utilize data modeling tools (MagicDraw, SQL Data Modeler etc.) to document and visualize data structures.
  • Define and enforce naming conventions, data standards, and best practices in data architecture.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and DBAs to optimize database performance and storage efficiency.
  • Assist in ETL/ELT pipeline design, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
  • Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify relationships, dependencies, and anomalies.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends in data modeling, data governance, and cloud-based data platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data modeling, database design, or data architecture.
  • Strong expertise in data modeling tools (MagicDraw, SQL Data Modeler etc.).
  • Proficiency in SQL, PLSQL, relational databases (Oracle)
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, OLTP/OLAP design, and normalization techniques.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and data integration best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to data integrity, consistency, and security.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.
