Here is the deal – being a Quality Assurance engineer here at DFIN means helping us deliver SaaS software solutions for our customers that primarily work with the SEC or other global regulating bodies. This is a hands-on position that will be responsible for the testing and quality of multi-tiered applications. The candidate for this position will work alongside development, Project Management, and Business partners, they will be responsible for design, development, and execution of test automation scripts for enterprise-class applications. The role will also include manual testing, root cause analysis of defects finding, verification, and review of requirements and use-cases. The role promotes QA productivity through automation, tools, and other best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Integrate as part of a growing automation Guild.
- Conduct manual and automation testing
- Design and execute automated test cases to support our Global Applications based on functional requirements using software engineering and Quality best practices.
- Refactor existing scripts to meet our framework standards.
- Ensure products meet or exceed the specified standards, acceptance criteria and end-user requirements.
- Actively participate and contribute to defining test scope, coverage, and overall strategy for projects.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as Standup, Backlog grooming and proving LOE.
- Perform Positive/Negative/Integration/Regression/Automation/Browser Compatibility Tests with great focus on reporting.
Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in manual software testing, with a strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- 4+ years of hands on experience with Java or Typescript tech stacks.
- Knowledge and experience working with Playwright and Allure reports.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven experience with Playwright or similar web testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of continuous integration tools, such as Azure DevOps, source code version control system such as GitHub.
- Experience Test management tools such as Azure DevOps, Atlassian suite or Harness.
- Working knowledge of Azure Cloud.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Working knowledge in Docker, API’s and web services is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify subtle issues in complex applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot software defects effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Perform functional, regression, exploratory, and usability testing on web, mobile, and desktop applications.
- Actively participate in sprint planning and contribute to ensuring timely and high-quality releases.
- Collaborate with the automation team to identify areas for test automation and provide feedback on automation scripts.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing to ensure consistency and performance across environments.
