Role Overview: 
As the Data and Insights Product Manager at Smartwyre, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of our Insights and data platform product strategy. You will work closely with the company’s US-based customers, as well as with internal cross-functional teams, including customer success, marketing, sales, business insights (report developers), technical architecture, cloud, and engineering.  You will drive the strategy, governance, and implementation of anything data- or insights- related.  Your primary goal will be to help Smartwyre’s customers create value in their own businesses through reporting, in-app insights, and data platform products. 
This means (1) working with our engineering team to build and deliver a data platform that enables our webapp engineers and insights analysts to safely and scalable access data for enhancing Smartwyre and delivering value for customers and (2) identifying the highest-value insights for customers and prioritizing our approach to deliver them.  Over time, we you add (3) delivering data insight create capabilities directly to customers, where appropriate.  
The ideal candidate has a profound curiosity about business-to-business problems, a strong background in product management, a deep understanding of data strategy and models and analytics, and a passion for leveraging data to create impactful products. Smartwyre is growing rapidly and this is an exciting opportunity to leverage the power of Snowflake and Azure to define and deliver a data product strategy that transforms an industry.  

Key Responsibilities: 
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to identify customer pain points, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform product development.  
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with customers directly to gather and prioritize product requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility.  
- Product Insights and Data Roadmap: Define and execute the product vision and strategy for Insights and data products, aligning with business goals and customer needs.  
- Data Enablement: Collaborate with the Architecture to define business needs for data enablement and drive the delivery of this key part of our platform.  
- Product Development: Work closely with engineering and insights team to design, build, and launch data products, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.  
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Where relevant, work with the Marketing and sales team in development and execution of go-to-market strategies for data products, including pricing, positioning, and promotion.  
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on product development, performance, and roadmap.  
- Continuous Improvement: Implement processes for continuous improvement, including feedback loops, A/B testing, and iterative product development.  

Qualifications/Experience:  
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business, or a related field. 
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in high-technology or software industry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with a focus on data products or analytics.  Proven track-record of delivery of a data enablement and insights strategy at a scaled-B2B SaaS business or an enterprise corporate IT function.  
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of databases, data models and data governance. Analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and data visualization tools experience also key. Knowledge of Azure and Snowflake important. Proficiency in SQL, Python or similar languages is required.  
-Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.  
-Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.  
-Leadership: Proven ability to lead and co-ordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.  
-Customer Focus and Management: Deep empathy and curiosity for customers and a passion for creating products that solve real-world problems. Proven ability to manage customer relationships in a business-to-business environment, balancing customer requests with the company’s ability to deliver and its financial and engineering capacity.

New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington and Maryland. 
The company operates a “distributed” business model, but does have a strong preference for candidates who reside close to key customers in Denver, CO, Raleigh-Durham, NC, Minneapolis, MN, Atlanta, GA and St. Louis, MO.
