ABOUT THE ROLE 

To be a passionate voice of Oxford University Press’ music, promoting it to increase performances, recordings, broadcasting and adoptions in their territories in North America. To undertake research and implement lead/opportunity generation to maximise income from Oxford University Press across sales, rights and hire income. To work to build the reputation and profile of Oxford University Press’ music in their territories in North America.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/KEY RESULT AREAS 

1. Research applicable markets in North America to identify new leads and opportunities for Music publishing’s copyrights and composers.
2. Pro-actively develop new and/or current contacts to create and execute new opportunities that generate university/school adoptions, performances, broadcasts, and recordings for OUP’s music in their territories in North America.
3. Pro-actively develop and maintain strong working relationships with key music industry figures and organisations in their territories in North America (conductors, festivals, industry bodies, schools/universities, record and broadcast companies) to ensure that Oxford Music’s repertoire and composers receive the best possible exposure to maximise potential income.
4. Deliver campaigns and create, and take advantage of, promotion opportunities via trade accounts own promotional channels.
5. Identify and organise appropriate reading sessions and other activities for OUP Music that ensure that programmers know the new music published by OUP.
6. Represent OUP at events, conventions and performance premieres as required.
7. Develop and maintain positive relationships with and for OUP composers to ensure both they and their repertoire are fully supported, understood, championed and amplified.
8. Support music department colleagues with specialist knowledge of OUP choral music, the North American market and performing groups, broadcasters and universities/schools to support all activities including sales, licensing, marketing materials and any other activity.

 This role is eligible for a sales bonus

Position Location: This role can be done in a hybrid environment in Cary, NC (2 times a week in office). The role can also be done remotely in the United States.  

GJC Level: I5 (for internal purposes only)  

Salary: $57,522 - $71,000 dependent on skills and experience
