Job Title: Business Systems Analyst

Department: IT - Digital

Location: Calgary, AB, Edmonton, AB, Vancouver, BC

Work Arrangement: This role is primarily based in the office environment with occasional work-from-home flexibility

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director, Digital Product Management, the Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will be responsible for aligning business needs with technology solutions to optimize systems and processes. This role involves managing Flair’s core systems and applications, conducting training, performing system integrations, configuring systems for new or updated business initiatives, testing updates, managing vendor relationships, and designing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a proactive self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to independently resolve challenges.

Primary Job Functions:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze functional and non-functional requirements.
• Conduct detailed analyses of existing business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Evaluate applications for potential security risks and implement necessary safeguards.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation, including system specifications, process flows, and user guides.
• Facilitate user training sessions to ensure effective system adoption.
• Develop and maintain a feedback system to monitor application performance and reporting effectiveness.
• Validate data and software content prior to deployment for operational use.
• Establish and document procedures in a comprehensive Policy and Procedures Manual.
• Analyze complex data sets to deliver insights and support informed decision-making.
• Oversee audits and quality checks to ensure system compliance and reliability.
• Conduct internal User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by creating and executing detailed test plans to verify solution integrity and functionality.
• Regularly review processes and procedures to drive continuous improvements aligned with departmental needs.
• Develop, implement, and manage efficient APIs to support operational requirements.
• Perform additional duties as required to support business objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in business analysis or system management (e.g., CBAP, ITIL) are considered an asset.
• Experience: 
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a Business System Analyst or similar role.
  • Proven experience with systems integration, process optimization, and software testing.
  • Experience with creating and maintaining detailed system documentation and user guides.
  • Hands-on experience conducting UAT and working with APIs.
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting complex data to support decision-making.
• Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or other project management platforms.
  • Technical proficiency in understanding system integrations, APIs, and security protocols.
  • Capability to independently identify solutions and drive improvements.

• Requirements: 
  • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references.
  • Must have a valid passport for travel across the airline’s network.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
