The Medical Billing - Revenue Cycle - Claim Prep & File - Lead/Trainer works closely with the supervisor and manager to provide oversight and leadership to the team’s employees. They help to ensure an overall high level of quality, efficiency, and productivity, while confirming all departmental goals are satisfactorily met. Responsibilities include leading, training, mentoring, and motivating team members daily. As a lead/trainer, you will be the primary contact for assigned staff.
Essential Functions/Duties
Analyze work processes to maximize efficiency.
Monitor trainee performance and report on metrics.
Maintain a working knowledge of department processes and commercial payor regulations and trends.
Assist with daily work distribution and monitor daily employee productivity.
Assure processes and resources are allocated correctly to provide required coverage within given workflows assigned to the team.
Qualifications
Required Experience
One year of experience in Healthcare/Revenue billing environment
One year of medical billing experience
Six months of successful training and leadership experience or applicable experience
Experience of computers and related technology, at an intermediate level
Proficient in Word, Excel, Office 365
Ability to work independently with little or no direction and as an active member of the leadership team
Preferred Experience
One year working in a call center environment
Above average knowledge of commercial insurance billing guidelines and policies
Experience with payor portals and online eligibility inquiries
Preferred Education
High school diploma
GED
Or significant, relevant work experience
